A large earthquake of magnitude Mw=6.3 occurred on 15 July 2008 at 03:26 (GMT) in Dodecanese Island near the Rodos island which is situated at Dodecanese, south-eastern Aegean sea. The focal mechanism solution revealed strike slip type faulting.
