China 12 May 2008 Earthquake

Eastern Sichuan

A strong earthquake of magnitude Mw=7.9 occurred in eastern Sichuan region
of China on 12 May 2008 (06:27 GMT). The focal mechanism solution showed
thrust type faulting. The ruptured fault has a SW-NE direction.

Thousands of people killed because of the earthquake.
