Kythira Earthquake |
On Sunday 8th of January 2006, 11:34 (GMT) an earthquake of magnitude M=6.6 occurred in Southern Aegean east of Kythira Island. The epicenter was located 195 km south of Athens. The earthquake was felt throughout Greece. Minor damages were reported in Kythira Island and surrounding areas. The main event was followed by a small number of aftershocks. |
